Making Up For A Long Sabbatical: Here's The Most AWESOME Thing You Can Do With Your Wedding Flowers!

Making Up For A Long Sabbatical: Here's The Most AWESOME Thing You Can Do With Your Wedding Flowers!

Holy Long Sabbatical, Batman!!

So, I kind of, accidentally, took a long (okay, mega long) break from updating this beautiful beast of a website. It definitely wasn't on purpose- I swear. It's just that- and this is good news- I've been SUPER BUSY with awesome clients (if you're reading this, chances are you're one of them...HEY THERE!!).

What exactly has been going on? Well, for one, wedding planning. And not just, full-planning (though I've done that, too). But even smaller, more personalized plans. Venue visits, vendor research and acquisition. I even attended a bridal show with a bride who was new in town- yay! And of coure, one of my favorites- I did my first pet- attendant wedding (aside from my own, that is). If you're wondering what that is, it's basically where I supervise and cuddle on your pet(s) during the day-of and make sure they're safe and ready to go for ceremony time! I also tuck them in for the night so that you can enjoy the evening with your guests for a few hours, without having to worry about getting home to them quickly! (If you want to learn more about that service because, duh, it's amazing and probably my favorite thing ever, click here.)

To make up for my long absence, I'm here to tell you about something super amazing. Well, actually, it's someone super amazing who can do something pretty spectacular with your WITH. YOUR. WEDDING. FLOWERS! And, honestly...what better time to make a comeback than on a day with a little bit of spook and full-moon magic on this glorious Friday the 13th?

LA not L.A.: A Look Into NOLA Wedding Costs (And My Revamp)

OMG, I'm back again.

Brothers, sisters, everybody sing...

First things first, if you got that reference, it probably means you break out into 90's song and dance as much as I do. No judgements!

Now, on to the important stuff....I'm back! I took some time to do a revamp and really hone in on my wedding business (you may have noticed). And, while there were a lot of things that inspired this change, today, I'm going to focus on a major one that effects every future New Orleans couple.

5 Easy Ways To Have A Mardi Gras Inspired Wedding

5 Easy Ways To Have A Mardi Gras Inspired Wedding

Holy post-Mardi Gras blues, Batman! I can't believe Carnival is over and that its already mid-February. Where is the year going?

We had a busy Mardi Gras week, not only because we went to a lot of awesome parades, but because we also relocated to the Old Metairie area (hence the delay in blog posts)- WOOT! It's been a busy last few weeks, but we finally got internet + cable hooked up at our new place! {But don't go spoiling The Walking Dead for me just yet.}

At any rate, in honor of NOLA's favorite holiday (let's be honest, we're all already having withdrawals) and since Mardi Gras-themed weddings are all the rage (especially in cities other than NOLA) I thought I'd 'tis the season and share 5 ways that you can totally pull off a Mardi Gras inspired wedding.

And no, it doesn't have to be over the top (even if that is the way we do it down here in NOLA).

Pet Lovers, UNITE! (Pet-Friendly Wedding Round-Up)

Pet Lovers, UNITE! (Pet-Friendly Wedding Round-Up)

In case you haven't figured it out, I'm pretty obsessed with creatures of the four-legged variety.  Especially when it involves including them in weddings.  All the feels!  My own dogs were our ring bearers and were a huge part of our day---- it literally was the Best. Decision. Ever.  Well, you know, aside from marrying my husband, I guess.  ;)

But seriously, I couldn't (and wouldn't) have had my day without them.  And since most of the inquiries I get brides-to-be regard asking how exactly to pull off having their pets in the wedding, I (finally) figured out that having a weekly, furbaby-friendly, wedding round-up would pretty much be the Best. Idea. Ever.

Bonus points that I just happen to love it so friggin much.

We Did It! (A Quick Recap On Our French Quarter Hallowedding)

We Did It! (A Quick Recap On Our French Quarter Hallowedding)

Whew!

What a whirlwind the past few months have been.  One day I was celebrating my bridal shower, I blinked, and just like that- our wedding day came and went!  And one bout of plague-like sickness later, it's Christmastime (my second favorite holiday)!

I cannot tell you how fast the time goes in the 2 months before your wedding.  The best word to describe it is insanity.  It is a stressful, yet oddly blissful type of insanity, but it is insanity no less.

Finding Your Wedding Venue: 12 Questions You Should Ask + My Experience

Finding Your Wedding Venue: 12 Questions You Should Ask + My Experience

Venue shopping.  Probably the biggest "to-do" on your list once you set a date.  And trust me, it doesn't come easy.  In fact, it was because I called and visited so many venues in my planning process that I started this blog.  Call after call, visit after visit, it became clear that there needs to be a simpler way to do this.  And that someone needed to share what they learned along the way to help other brides.

As I've mentioned before, I wasn't like most girls when it came to wedding plans.  I didn't have this big idea or dream wedding envisioned in my head.  Sure, I loved watching Say Yes to the Dress, but when it came to what I envisioned my wedding to look like- or where it would be at- I never gave it much thought.  When my FI and I started this wedding planning journey just after we moved here, I actually even thought I'd probably have my wedding up in Chicago, where I was born and raised, and where most of my extended family still resides.  Thankfully, my smart (and southern loving) Father brought me to my senses, reminding me of what a unique city New Orleans is and I how would be missing out on some serious fun.  (And boy, was he right. Thanks Dad. :))
